Once in a blue moon. . . yup! My boyfriend and I have had these moments in which we call "un-recreatable." These amazing moments, with an amazing sky, fireflies etc. Well now we get to spend our first New Years Celebration together, and not only is it a full moon, but a blue moon! So, another moment we can't recreate. YES!
My boss just came through the office completely ticked because someone asked to leave early. Not me . . . but I about did. PHEW. So, yeah, I think i'll be here till 5. Then a quick trip to the bank, and off to the north for a great couple of days!
I'm writing this entry much earlier than usual. I decided that it was best to do it now, rather than wait and see if I'm up for it after the ball drops. If I happen to have a moment, I'll just update it. But let's be honest with ourselves.
THE ANTS! I almost forgot. The crazy things have built the most amazing tunnels. I can't believe how interesting ants can be. I . . . am. . . such. . . a . . . nerd. But i'm ok with that!!
My neck hurts. I have been sitting at my desk playing Farkle, and i'm bored out of my mind. I finished all of my work that I needed to get done today, now i'm only waiting on my paycheck. Meh. Oh, and permission to leave freely. :-)
So . . . um. . . well Happy New Year. I'll fill you in tomorrow on all the juicy details. (ok, not the juicy ones, but the fun one's none-the-less;)
Till then. . .

Day Five . . .
Today began the search for a new dress. Not the "perfect dress," just. . . a dress. You see, I am 6'2", so shopping is not something easy. I have a 37" inseam. Ultra talls at most stores. . . 34." Really? Anyway, today was also the surprising end to my dress search. I not only found a dress that fit, IT WAS ON SALE!!! When does that happen? NEVER!!! It's very 50's, conservative and dark gray, I love it. It should go nicely with my black wool pea coat. :-)
The ants have been very busy.
I have to admit, I think my mom and I are enjoying them just as much as the girls. We sometimes find ourselves standing silent for minutes at a time watching which ant is going to come up from the depths of the farm with the biggest piece of gel. It's pretty entertaining. Who knew. (apparently the brilliant boyfriend)
I have just finished the pajama pants I made for his family. It was fun to pick sewing back up again. It's sad how we forget about our childhood hobbies. Whether it be sewing, ant farms, or going rollerskating (note to self: go rollerskating) we all tend to grow up and forget. I think my girls are giving me a reason to remember.
I'm finishing up the packing I have to do for tomorrow. This weekend, I get to meet more of . . . (let's call him "Michael" after our favorite author Michael Crichton) Michael's family. His brother and sister, and their sig. others. I couldn't be more excited. Family is so important to me. . . Michael seems to feel the same way.
How I feel today: Calm, fulfilled, and almost giddy. I can't wait to hug him.
Till then. . .

Day Four
Ant Farms. SO FUN! My boyfriend got my daughters an ant farm for Christmas, and the ants arrived today. So far, they have buried the 2 ants who didn't live, in holes, then removed one of them again, and plugged another hole (which is supposed to be the start of a tunnel) with a big piece of gel. So funny!
I can't wait to see what they do tomorrow!
Today at work. . . BORED! I had literally nothing to do. So I caught up on some tv shows thanks to hulu. If you haven't tried the desktop version. . .you must!
"It" was dealt with today. Not the best news, but could have been far worse. I've moved on, but not before treating myself to $22 worth of lip gloss at Bath and Body Works. It's my favorite, and I deserve it! (right?)
We have two more days until the end of 2009. It's been pretty epic for me. Some say I'm followed by a dark cloud that dumps bad luck on me every day. I see it all as lessons. Bring it on! For with every lesson, I become wiser. So the way I see it. . . 2009 has been my brightest year! I may have had hard times, but I have also received the greatest rewards.
Tonight, I feel so lucky. I am so happy, and I feel so loved. Life really is good. . . when you have the ability to move on, and appreciate the little things.
Today's favorites: Flannel pajama pants, and milk duds. (but only 10 . . . I swear) ;-)
Till then. . .

Day Three
There are some days that hit you like a Fed Ex truck on Christmas Eve, and you're tested for all you're worth. Not only you, but the people in your life as well. I truly feel that these are the days where we find out who we really are, and who really loves us.
Side note: I got a new battery for my car today. It may start now. Also, correction from my last blog. . . RCIS is actually RCIA. Yeah. . . I have a lot to learn. :-)
I sat back today, and thought about the most important people in my life. My parents, who have done more for me than I could ever repay them for. My daughters, who make me laugh, even when I don't want to. The co-worker, who always asks if they can help. The friend who even in your darkest hour, tells you over and over again that everything will be fine.
I always say I don't live in regret, because what's the point? It's nothing you can change, so why dwell? Just "keep moving forward" (thank you Walt Disney) and either fix it, or live with it. Whatever "it" is. Then sometimes you're hit with an "it" that is a little bit harder to not dwell on. I'm trying. For everyone involved with my "it," i'm sorry. I'll shake it off, I promise. I'll move on.
My 3 year old daughter just layed her head down on my shoulder and said, "you're such a good mommy, and I love you very much." Suddenly my "it" doesn't exist. Children have magical powers. . . i'm convinced.
Relationships are often tested when "it's" occur. People lose their cool, or say "crazy" things. But it's simply out of fear. To know that you have someone in your life who care's about you enough to accept certain "it's," is a great feeling. It's important to let them know that often.
For all of you out there with an "it" floating around in your brain, shake "it" off. Move on. There are worse things in life. Take it all in, learn from it, then keep moving forward. Life is meant to be enjoyed, time is meant to be spent, and people are meant to be loved.
Till then. . .

Day Two . . .
Cella chocolate covered cherries. Delicious. Moving on. . .
I ate horribly today. Not exactly the best start to my "better body." Oh well. . . I'll start tomorrow. Maybe.
I was in Oklahoma today for the last of my family Christmas'. It was nice, but I'm exhausted. Next weekend I'm headed up north to spend New Year's Eve with my guy, and maybe his family. I'm really excited to spend more time with them, they seem like a lot of fun.
In my first blog, I forgot to mention another life changing event that will happen this year. I am going through RCIS. Or. . . for my non-religious readers. "Catholic Religious Training!" Yeah. . . big step for me. I'm really excited about it though. I am not exactly what one would call a super religious person, but i'm trying.
I got the movie 500 Days of Summer, for Christmas. If you haven't seen it. . . you must. Really.
Tired. That's really the only word going from my brain to my fingertips at the moment. I go back to work tomorrow.
. . . (bored face)
I'm hoping for a chill week. Well at least until Thursday. Then it's party time with the greatest guy ever!! :-)
Till then. . .

Day One
I decided last week that 2010 will most likely be my most successful year. Not financially, but historically. So here we go, day one, of 365. In the year 2010, I plan to graduate college, move OUT of my parents house, (ok, this one may end up happening in 2011, considering I don't actually graduate until December), lose 20 lbs, and simply move on.
I divorced last year after an 11 year marriage. (10 years together, and one separated) I have 3 awesome daughters who have been ridiculously amazing through all of this. So here I am, a divorced 31 year old single mother of 3. I can do this right? I never imagined in a million years that this was where my life would take me, but it has, and i'm along for the ride.
Tonight, I went to a gay bar with a friend from high school. I prefer this, mainly because they're usually cleaner. Plus, if a man walks up to you and says, "girl that's a kick ass shirt," he really just means that I have a kick ass shirt. It was great to see "Mark."
I've started dating again. It's not near as easy as it was when I was younger. Men want the "one thing" even more than they did before. I had really given up hope. That "yucky love stuff" that you see in the movies doesn't really exist. I mean come one. . . "You complete me?" PLEASE! Guys don't really come up with that stuff on their own. Then one day in June of last year, I met someone. Someone who would prove to me that I am wrong. Way wrong! He sent me flowers one day . . . " . . . you should receive these exactly one month since I've last seen you." *sigh* Holy crap! Could I have really found "that guy?" Well, there's so much more, but I'll leave that for the boring days where I really don't have much to talk about.
365 days to change my life. It sounds like a lot. . . but it's not. I have to get busy. 2 more semesters of school, a possible job change, and a hopeful body change. The one thing I know as I fall asleep tonight though, I have amazing people along for the ride.
Tomorrow, Oklahoma City to visit family. Pray for me. . .
Till then. . .
